Nanjing Wasin Fujikura optical fiber product line started in 2020, took the lead in completing the intelligent transformation of the product line, and formed a set of intelligent manufacturing platform with independent intellectual property rights. Last year, all the optical cable product lines have been put into use. The automatic cable laying machine with independent intellectual property rights and the intelligent detector for optical cable appearance defects have been introduced, and the meter weight system and other intelligent equipment have been introduced. In 2021, under the guidance and promotion of the company’s leaders and general manager Wu Haibo’s solution team, the optical cable product line is at full power to fully promote the progress of intelligent transformation, and strive to build a set of optical cable intelligent manufacturing platform based on big data acquisition, analysis and application.

In order to make the big data acquisition platform as perfect and effective as possible, the optical cable product line carefully combed the process and quality key control points of each process in the optical cable manufacturing process based on quality improvement, accurate cost control and optimal process exploration, and combined with the public works Department to classify the difficulty of data acquisition. The results show that Nanjing company lacks monitoring means for some key processes and quality control points in the optical cable manufacturing process. At the same time, some existing monitoring equipment are independent equipment, which can only collect the data of corresponding equipment separately, and can not summarize and analyze all kinds of collected data in the whole production process. Therefore, it can not provide effective support for product defect analysis and process parameter correction.

In view of the above situation, the optical cable department and the public works Department set up a key control point with general difficulty in realizing the acquisition function to upgrade the equipment. After several months of product selection, equipment processing, installation and commissioning, it finally took the lead in completing the upgrading and transformation of a layer stranding production line in September this year, realizing the functions of real-time data display and data acquisition of tension setting out and casing setting out tension.

With the successful experience in the transformation of the first production line, the two departments quickly formulated the next step plan to carry out intelligent upgrading and transformation for the casing plastic production line. The upgrading includes the rapid adjustment and real-time display of traction tension and take-up tension, the automatic lifting speed in the production process, the centralized display and background centralized collection of production process parameters, which realizes the whole process monitoring of process parameters and quality data, the real-time output warning of abnormalities, and the monitoring of real process and cost level, so as to achieve the effect of no point inspection in the process. At the end of October, with the strong cooperation of colleagues from the Ministry of public works, after repeated tests, the transformation of the production line was officially completed.

These two transformations are a bold attempt made by the Department from the perspective of intelligent manufacturing, on the basis of independent development and cost control, and taking the lack of control of key points of process and quality in optical cable manufacturing as the starting point. With the unremitting efforts of everyone in the team, the set goals were successfully completed. The implementation of the two successful cases has also become a powerful booster for the promotion of departmental intelligent manufacturing. In the following time, we took advantage of the iron to design and develop the real-time data display function of the sheath process. At the same time, with the help of the group’s brother companies, we successfully built a cloud platform for centralized data collection and analysis of optical cable manufacturing process and quality key points, which laid a solid foundation for building an optical cable intelligent manufacturing platform in the future.
